An eight-month-old baby named Xiao Bao was stabbed 90 times with scissors by his mother after he bit her while she was breastfeeding him. The mother in eastern China's Jiangsu province, Xuzhou, put her baby in the head and face after he mistakenly bed her nipple while nursing.
Small Xiao Bao is recovering in hospital after more than 100 stitches to his face, head and neck.
The child lives in a home with his mother and two uncles living recycling garbage. It was one of the uncles who discovered Xiao Bao lying in a pool of blood in the courtyard of their home and quickly rushed him to the hospital, unaware of what had happened to him.

Neighbors have petitioned the local government to take the child away, but they say they will not intervene in the matter.
According to reports, local authorities said there was no confirmation the mother suffered from a mental illness.
They added that the child still has two guardians in the form of his two uncles.Mental disease is still a relatively closed subject in modern China. Neither medicine or modern psychiatric treatment is widely used.
