Dude, do you know Mark Zuckerberg came to Lagos?

Did you know Mark Zuckerberg came to our very Lagos?
It is quite unfortunate that our national flag has been stained with a federal reputation of corruption. It is unfortunate
we get to whisper our nationality to even a deaf man because of the national aroma of
internet fraud. Tell a drowsy dude abroad you are Nigerian and instead of a handshake, they ask for caffeine.
Yet in spite of all this, Zuckerberg, the famous facebook owner came to our very lagos today. This visit would mark Zuckerberg is touching down on Sub-Saharan Africa. Upon his visit to Lagos, Zuckerberg met with local developers as well as local businesses and developers in all in a dedicated push to get a true-picture understanding of how Facebook  works here and how it could “better support tech development and entrepreneurship across Africa,” the company revealed in a statement.

In his visit today, he took the humble courtesy of journeying down to Yaba, which is informally recognised as the Silicon Valley of Nigeria. There at Yaba, he toured a coding camp designed for kids as well as getting to meet a number of 50 local startup founders including developers at CcHub, our very indigenous local innovation center.
Zuckerberg had told CNN: “There’s so much energy and so much potential here. I just want to walk around and meet folks.”
Did you know Mark Zuckerberg came to our very Lagos?
Of course, he was a deserving hero. As he walked down the street, he drank large volumes of cheers from passersby.
Zuckerberg has been ramping up its participation in African initiatives this year.
Just June here, his foundation — the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative – had made a multi-million dollar investment in Andela. You should know Andela in Lagos; a two-year-old startup which engages in training African software developers giving them full-time positions at international companies. Andela has its operational headquarters in Lagos as well as Nairobi, Kenya — so Zuckerberg did well to pay them a cool visit at the Lagos office too.
Andela’s director Seni Sulyman was so excited in his welcome Zuckerberg.
“Mark’s visit demonstrates to all Nigerian developers and entrepreneurs that they’ve caught the attention of the tech world, and they are capable of succeeding on a truly global level,” Sulyman said in a written statement. “
This is actually lovely, guess Bill Gates is next on the list!
