Simi and falze the bald guy has kept the music industry bussing as the duo couple mind to produce the hit songs in ‘Jamb Question (remix)’ and ‘Soldier’.
An almost overbearing curiosity about what goes on in their personal lives aside, the duo have identified how to stay relevant in the Nigerian music discourse with their studio chemistry.
Their suggestive relationship has made seven-track EP, Chemistry, with Falz and Simi aiming to solidify their position as the best music duo in the country.
It opens with ‘Foreign’, a cheeky, braggadocio-filled song about having an exotic taste, and listeners are immediately served with Falz’s witty, but catchy rhymes. ‘Billionaire boy, ti o ba Femi, o te dollar,’ being a highlight
‘Chemistry’, the titular track, is simply Simi at her imperious best, and her performance almost left Falz playing catch up. On the song, it’s almost like they are finding it hard to hold on to some hidden, but genuine, emotions waiting to burst out.
If there’s any criticism of Chemistry, it is that Falz at times panders to silly clichés, notably on ‘Want To’, but he duly makes up for them with other no-he-didn’t-just moments that could go over the listener’s head.
This project tells us what we already know about Falz and Simi’s music, and even if they will not have a chance to be publicly involved in a romantic affair because of a certain Adekunle, the world already knows no duo will ever have a better chemistry.
